TORRANCE

Torrance is like a shot of espresso—intense, bold, and unforgettable. Fronted by powerhouse songwriter Tamara Williamson, a BMG recording artist who has shared stages with Oasis and collaborated with Toronto greats like King Cobb Steelie, The Rheostatics, and Do Make Say Think, Torrance delivers raw, electrifying performances. With longtime collaborator Mitch Girio (King Apparatus), drummer Stephen Pitkin (Elliott Brood), and vocalist/keyboardist Cassie Jones, the band merges driving rhythms with soaring melodies. Having lit up stages including Guelph’s Hillside Festival, Torrance is set to unleash their highly anticipated new album in 2025—a thunderous evolution of their sound.

THE HISTORY OF TORRANCE.

Before Torrance many years ago MRS. TORRANCE was a buzz band that rocked the world. 1993-1998

Before the internet they were a 90’s alternative band that took Toronto by storm.

Garnering a major label record deal and playing with bands like Oasis, Mathew Sweet, The The and Lisa Lobe they were rocking grunge pop before the word was invented.

Maybe it was too much too soon and just when they were hatching their second album. "I'm the bird" Nabsta was invented and everything stumbled to a halt.

It was a fun ride though ... recording at Le Studio playing all the big stages even LuLu's ...

But the band fell apart with the record deal and the members went their separate ways, Steve Pitkin is a key member of Elliot Brood. Chris Waller has off and on played with Tamara over the years. The band are still great friends. But in 2024 Torrance was born. It's a new line up but honouring the love of having fun with blistering loud songs and performance. We also play some of the old songs.

So.. if you like loud, charged, tight music.

Come watch.

DANNIES NOT HERE but TORRANCE is.
